SVCU 2023 Election Results

“Democratic Member Control” is one of the 7 Co-operative Principles that guides SVCU. This year we had four candidates vying for three open Board of Director positions.  Congratulations to Tyson Campbell, Ken Genaille and Lorne Henkelman, elected to the SVCU Board of Directors.  

SVCU's AGM - April 17, 2023 7:00pm

This year's annual general meeting brought over 100 community members together to celebrate SVCU's successes.  After a delicious catered meal by Verneece Eggie, the meeting portion of our evening kicked off at 7pm.  SVCU Board President, Ken Treasure welcomed members, staff and honoured guests and paid tribute to both retiring Directors and those Directors being recognized for their years of service. Craig Zamzow, CEO then took the membership through SVCU's financials, highlighting our financial success and announcing $440,000 in patronage that will be paid to members by June of this year. In closing, Craig expressed his admiration for SVCU employees and their dedicated service to members and sincere thanks for their contribution to insuring the health and prosperity of SVCU. Director Cam Mateika, acting as Returning officer, announced the results of our Board of Directors election. Elected to the board; Tyson Campbell, Ken Genaille and Lorne Henkelman. Our evening came to a close in celebration of our "My Community Matters" grant recipients.  Congratulations to Minitonas & District Arena, awarded $3,000; Sunflower Early Learning Centre, awarded $2,000; Swan River Kinsmen Nursery School, awarded $2,000 and Swan River & District Community Council Inc., awarded $3,000. SVCU would like to thank our membership for joining us!
